Siliguri, 03rd September: A new traffic booth office was inaugurated at Gora More along the Eastern Bypass in Siliguri on Thursday to strengthen traffic management and regulate vehicular movement in the area.
The new traffic booth, under the NJP Traffic Guard, was formally inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed. ADCP (Traffic) Purnima Sherpa and ACP (Traffic) Chandan Das were also present at the inauguration.
A large number of vehicles pass through Gora More every day, and the area has also witnessed road accidents on several occasions. With the new traffic booth now operational, traffic police are expected to have a stronger presence in the area and improve traffic regulation and enforcement of traffic rules.
Traffic officials hope the new booth will strengthen traffic monitoring at Gora More and surrounding areas, while helping ensure smoother and more organised movement for commuters.
