Fulbari, 13th September: A grand Shani Puja was held at the Shani Temple in Ambika Nagar, Road No. 2 in Siliguri on Saturday, drawing a large number of devotees who gathered to offer prayers to Lord Shani Dev.
The puja was conducted with traditional rituals amid a devotional atmosphere at the temple premises. According to the Puja Committee, this year marks the 27th year of the annual event. A three-day programme featuring various cultural and social activities is also being organised to mark the occasion. The Pradhan and Upa-Pradhan of Fulbari I Gram Panchayat inaugurated the programme on Saturday.
Devotees began arriving at the temple early in the morning to offer prayers and seek happiness, prosperity and the well-being of their families. As part of the annual tradition, the Puja Committee also distributed khichdi prasad among the devotees.
Committee members, including Secretary Krishna Dutta, President Kamal Barman, Sanju Biswas, Bapi Mallick, Madan Sah, Biplab Roy, Animesh Sarkar, Raj Saha and Amit Sharma, are actively involved in organising the event.
The Ambika Nagar area remained festive throughout the day, with devotees participating in the celebrations and religious activities.
