Self-help group women sell hand-made masks and sanitizers to earn amid the lockdown

Siliguri, 12th May: The nation-wide lockdown in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases has made a huge economical impact on the daily wagers and their families.

The women working in self-help groups, with no source of income and very little savings left, have started selling hand-made masks, sanitizers, and caps in various parts of the city to earn a living.

After an acute shortage for masks and sanitizers were reported in the pharmacies several days ago, the self-help group started preparing masks and sanitizers on their own and are said to earn around 1,500 rupees per day by selling them.
