Siliguri, 28th August: The forest workers of Sarugara Range of Baikunthapur division launched an operation and recovered the stolen wood.
It is to recall, earlier this month, the range’s forest workers had seized a large quantity of stolen segun wood and also arrested several people including government officials.
After interrogating the accused, the forest department officials gathered information on more stolen wood hidden away. Today, the forest officials conducted an operation in an abandoned godown near Babupara and recovered several stolen wood. A security guard stationed at the spot said that the said logs had been unloaded from a truck a few days ago.
