Siliguri, 08th October: BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya held a meeting with the leadership of the BJP’s Siliguri organisational district at the party office in Siliguri on Thursday.
After the meeting, speaking to reporters, Bhattacharya expressed deep grief over the death of actor Nana Patekar and recalled his contribution to Indian cinema.
Bhattacharya described Nana Patekar as a highly talented and sensitive actor who remained connected with ordinary people despite staying outside the conventional star culture of the film industry. He said Patekar’s death was a major loss to the Indian cultural sphere.
Commenting on the alleged incident of liquor bottles being thrown at the residence of CPI(M) leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, Samik Bhattacharya condemned the incident. He said such an attack was highly condemnable and those responsible had done wrong.
