Alipurduar, 03rd February: A sambar deer died in the Mechpara Tea Garden in the Kalchini block of Alipurduar district. According to sources, the said Sambar deer had entered the Tea Garden on Monday morning.
The workers of the tea garden informed the forest department about the incident. Upon receiving the news, the forest workers reached the spot and started chasing the deer towards the forest. However, the sambhar deer died all of a sudden. The body of the deer has been taken to Rajabhat Khawa for an autopsy.
