Safe Home likely to be built in Siliguri Polytechnic College, officials visit for inspection

Siliguri, 22nd May: A safe home is likely to be built at the Polytechnic College in Dabgram, Siliguri. Officials of the district administration today visited the institution for inspection. Apparently, the work will start as soon as the team will receive the government’s permission. Suryanagar Social Welfare Organization will be in charge of this safe home.


As per the information, the safe home will initially be inaugurated with 20 beds. If needed, the number of beds will be increased in the coming days. Oxygen supply will be provided in each bed and doctors will be available at all time. All services will be provided free of cost to the patients. The workers of the institution hope that in a few days they will get all the permission from the government. The safe home will be opened soon after completing all the tasks. Any COVID-19 infected person from Siliguri will be able to receive treatment at the safe home.

College Principal Shubhashish Mukherjee said that the authorities have visited the college today and have selected some rooms. Ashish Brahma, General Secretary of Suryanagar Social Welfare Organization, said that after opening the safe home, patients will benefit a lot. And those who cannot stay at home can come and stay in the safe home.
