Siliguri, 04th September: Bhakti Nagar Police foiled an alleged robbery plot and arrested three miscreants with weapons near the PC Mittal Bus Terminus. Some other suspects reportedly managed to flee the spot by taking advantage of the darkness during the operation.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Tarvi Alam alias Barku (35), Manik Barman (22), and Akash Barman (23). Police recovered sharp-edged weapons from their possession.
According to police, during interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted to preparing to carry out a robbery in the Bhanunagar area. A case has been registered against the three under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and they were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday.
Police are conducting a search for the absconding suspects and investigating the entire matter.
