Siliguri, 04th September: Janmashtami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm at the ISKCON temple in Siliguri, with a large number of devotees gathering at the temple since Friday morning.
A series of religious rituals, pujas and cultural programmes have been organised throughout the day, from early morning until night, on the occasion of Janmashtami. The temple premises have also been beautifully decorated for the celebration, while devotees from different parts of the region have been arriving since morning.
An inter-school competition was also organised at the temple in the afternoon, with students from various schools participating in the event.
Special rituals and religious programmes will begin in the evening. A ‘Mahayajna’ will be held at 8 pm, followed by the ‘Abhishek Ceremony’ at 10 pm. The celebrations will conclude with ‘Maha Aarti’ at midnight.
