Nagrakata, 24th February: Road studs and speed breakers have been installed on the Chalsa-Nagrakata 31C National Highway to prevent frequent accidents and wildlife deaths. The environmentalists as well as the pedestrians highly praised the initiative taken.
It is to be noted that the national highway adjacent to the Chapramari forests is an accident-prone area and has cost the lives of several wildlife. Hence, the initiative was taken by the NH authorities.
Manabendra De Sarkar, an environmentalist of Chalsa, said that several animals have lost their lives due to vehicle collisions in this area. He claimed that they had been demanding vehicle speed control in the route for a long time. He highly appreciated the initiative taken by the authorities.
