Fulbari, 12th October: A woman was killed and her husband sustained serious injuries after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle near Amaidighi in Fulbari on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Faziran Khatun, while her husband, Akhtar Ali, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The couple are residents of Bhandarigach in Rajganj.
According to information, Akhtar Ali and his wife had visited Fulbari for bank-related work. While returning home on their motorcycle after completing the work, a speeding truck rammed into their two-wheeler near Amaidighi.
The impact threw both of them onto the road. Faziran Khatun died on the spot, while Akhtar Ali sustained serious injuries.
Following the accident, police from the Fulbari Highway Traffic Outpost and New Jalpaiguri Police Station reached the scene. The injured man was rescued and taken to a hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The accident triggered concern in the area, while the incident has cast a pall of grief over the deceased woman’s family and the local community.
