Road construction work under Bangla Grameen Yojana Prakalpa resumes in Fulbari

Rajganj, 13th May: Road construction work that had been stalled for almost a year has resumed with the help of the residents of the area.

It has been learned that about a year ago, work on a two and a half kilometre road from Amaidighi to Kanchanbari in Fulbari 2 gram panchayat started. Construction of the road began at a cost of Rs 2.62 crore under the Bangla Grameen Yojana Prakalpa, but locals blocked the work as parts of several houses had to be demolished to make the road 18 feet wide. As a result, the road work came to a halt. After holding several meetings with the families, the road work started again.

Gram Panchayat pradhan Dilip Roy said it was possible to convince the families with a lot of effort. He thanked the families for accepting the loss of their property.
