Kalchini, 09th November: In a significant initiative undertaken by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), a ‘Rail Coach Restaurant’ has been inaugurated at the Rajabhatkhawa railway station under Kalchini Block. The development would now enable passengers and tourists to enjoy the ambiance and food of a restaurant while being seated in the train coach. These unique services can be availed without traveling or buying a ticket.
Interestingly, from the outside, the setup looks similar to a luxury train coach, holding a vibrant restaurant inside. Reportedly, the restaurant will serve delicious cuisines covering both veg and non-veg. A similar coach restaurant has already been inaugurated by the NFR at the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway station.
During the inauguration, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Amarjit Gautam and other railway officials were present. The DRM stated that Jayanti and Buxa are approachable from Rajabhatkhawa and Kalchini and Alipurduar are relatively nearby. He added that the restaurant was started in Rajabhatkhawa, keeping in mind the large number of tourists that visit the area.
