Post poll violence: TMC accused of vandalizing house of CPIM supporter

Siliguri, 13th February: After the successful completion of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation election on Saturday, post-poll violence was reported in Sukantapally Balaka more area in Ward no-32.


It has been learned that Soma Bhattacharya and her family have been long-time CPIM supporters of the area. Allegedly, Bhattacharya’s family was attacked with sticks, bamboo and sharp weapons at around 12 am last night. The house was vandalized and the women were beaten. It is also alleged that the incident has been fueled by the ward’s TMC candidate Tapas Chatterjee.

However, Tapash Chatterjee, the Trinamool candidate from Ward No. 32, denied the allegations and said that such incidents will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
