Jalpaiguri 17th January: Members of the Nagarik Manch of Jalpaiguri Municipality Ward No.10 blocked the VIP Road Police Line in Jalpaiguri town today, alleging of being denied public services. Traffic came to a standstill due to the blockade.
The Nagarik Manch members alleged that residents of the ward are deprived of all types of services from proper roads to drinking water facilities. The agitated residents of the ward claimed to staged larger demonstrations and block various routes in Jalpaiguri if their demands are not met. Residents of the area including Ward No.10 Councilor Pradeep Dey, Sushant Sarkar, Rajesh Saha were present during the protest.
