Siliguri, 02nd October: Police recovered stolen cash, important documents and other items within hours of a theft at a house in Siliguri’s Hati More area and arrested one person in connection with the incident.
According to reports, Meera Lepcha lodged a complaint at Siliguri Police Station following the theft. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested one accused in connection with the case.
The stolen cash, important documents and other belongings were recovered from the accused. The recovered items were subsequently handed over to Meera Lepcha.
Speaking about the recovery, Lepcha said she had not expected her stolen cash and documents to be recovered so quickly. She thanked the police for their prompt action.
According to Lepcha, the cash had been kept at home for the medical treatment of a relative who is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The money was meant to cover the treatment expenses.
Lepcha said the swift recovery of the stolen cash and important documents has further strengthened her confidence in the police.
