Siliguri, 30th October: Police in Siliguri demonstrated swift action and vigilance when Titu Saha, an officer of the Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard, recovered and returned a lost mobile phone on Tuesday night.
The incident involved Gour Kanto Das, a teacher from Balurghat, who was visiting Siliguri with a friend. At the end of the visit, they took an e-rickshaw from Matigara to Siliguri Junction to catch a bus back to Balurghat.
However, while getting off the e-rickshaw, his phone fell onto the road unnoticed. A passerby attempted to pick up the device, but Traffic SI Titu Saha, stationed at the Junction Traffic Guard, observed the incident.
Officer Saha promptly intervened, retrieved the phone, and, after verifying its ownership, returned it to Das. The teacher expressed his gratitude for the timely action by SI Saha, relieved to get back his lost mobile.
