Police arrest youth and accomplice with forged appointment letter for NBMCH

Siliguri, 19th September: A youth was apprehended while attempting to join North Bengal Medical College with a fraudulent appointment letter, causing a stir at the campus on Thursday. The individual, identified as Mustak Ali from Raiganj in Uttar Dinajpur district, and his relative Imran Ali, were arrested.

According to reports, Mustak Ali arrived at the college to secure a job in the Group D position, accompanied by a relative. They presented a recruitment letter from the Health Department. However, the matter drew suspicion when the letter was submitted to the principal. As per the general procedure, the appointment letters are usually uploaded on the Health Department’s portal. Meanwhile, the letter produced by the youth was not available in the portal.

Subsequently, the principal notified the Medical Outpost police, leading to their arrest. During the interrogation, Mustak Ali and his relative, Imran Ali, revealed that they had purchased the fake appointment letter for ₹1,50,000. On Friday, the two will be produced before the court while the police are on a hunt for the criminals responsible behind the forgery.

Principal Indrajit Saha of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) stated that the youth was attempting to secure a job with a fraudulent document and has been handed over to the police.
