Kalchini, 11th June: In Kalchini, a situation of rift could be seen within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party, in which, it was alleged that candidates were selected for the upcoming Panchayat polls based on money.
Reportedly, TMC workers accused Trinamool’s Kalchini region President, Shankar Kujur of demanding a hefty amount of money for selecting candidates. In this regard, on Saturday, the workers from Kalchini’s Modi Line and Station Line areas staged a protest in front of the Trinamool Congress’s Kalchini block office.
Speaking with regard to the allegations, the Trinamool Congress Kalchini region President, stated that, he is unaware of the selected candidates as the district committee is yet to declare the list.
