One more arrested in connection with Rajaholi Murder Case in Siliguri

Siliguri, 06th December: The NJP police have arrested one more individual in connection with the murder of Mohammad Johri in Rajaholi, NJP, allegedly over non-payment of ‘Dadagiri tax.’ The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Nausad alias Kancha.


It is important to note that on November 1, a group of youths reportedly murdered Mohammad Johri in Rajaholi for refusing to pay the ‘Dadagiri tax.’ Following the incident, Mohammad Johri’s family filed a complaint against ten individuals at the NJP police station. Based on this complaint, the police initiated an investigation and arrested one person initially, followed by two more arrests.

With the remaining accused still at large, the family of the deceased and local residents staged a protest, demanding the immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits.


In response to the protests, the police administration intensified their efforts. Mohammad Nausad was arrested from Raiganj early Friday morning after further investigation. He was later sent to the Jalpaiguri court on the same day. The police continue to investigate the case.
