Siliguri, 05th June: A person infected with the novel coronavirus died in Siliguri, creating a stir in the entire region.
As per the information, he was a resident of the Pradhan Nagar Baghajatin Colony area and was undergoing treatment at the Desun SARI Hospital. His swab test was taken there which came back positive.
According to the information, the deceased, along with several others, was supposed to be shifted to the Matigara COVID Hospital today. In this context, Darjeeling District CMOH Pralay Acharya stated that it is not yet clear whether the person died of COVID-19 or other medical reasons.
Meanwhile, the body is said to be cremated as per the government rules.
