Bagdogra, 09th February: In a recent development, a drug trafficker has been arrested with brown sugar. The arrested accused has been identified as Amjad Ali, a resident of Atal in Naxalbari.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, the cops of Bagdogra police station launched an operation in the area adjacent to Singhia Jhora Tea Estate of Bagdogra and apprehended the drug trafficker. Upon initiating a search, 91 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession, which prompted the arrest.
The market value of the intoxicated substances is stated to be in lakhs. The accused will be produced before the Siliguri court on Saturday. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
