One arrested with 1 kg of gold in Siliguri

Siliguri, 03rd February: The officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested a person with a kilo of gold from the NJP station in Siliguri. The arrested individual has been identified as Mithun Poddar.


Based on a tip-off, the officials of the DRI arrested the accused from the Arunachal Express at NJP station. The market value of the recovered gold has been estimated to be 41.42 lakh rupees. It has been reported that the said gold was being smuggled from Myanmar to Delhi via Assam. The arrested accused was presented in the Siliguri court, today. The Police are currently investigating the incident.
