Siliguri, 28th September: NJP police station arrested a person for selling and buying a stolen vehicle. The accused has been identified as Sablu Roy. Police have also recovered two scooters and a motorbike from his possession.
Reportedly, a gang in the said area would purchase vehicles in finance from the company and would sell them to others in a few days. Following this, they used to dupe the insurance companies by registering a case of theft. This time too, the person lodged a complaint of theft of his car with the police, but when the police got suspicious about it, they learned the real situation after interrogating him.
After this, the name of Sablu Roy, a member of the gang, came to light. Shortly after this, the police of the NJP police station arrested Roy from Belakoba. Along with his arrest, they also recovered two scooters and a bike. The accused has been produced in Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
