Siliguri, 26th July: The NJP police arrested three notorious members of a robbers’ gang. The arrested accused have been identified as Bappa Sahani, a resident of Sepai Para, Chetan Paswan, a resident of Baribhasha area, and Laltu Das, a resident of Hatiadanga.
It has been learned that a gang of 12-14 robbers gathered near Fulbari Bazar on Sunday late night for the purpose of robbery. Based on a tip-off, the NJP police launched operations and arrested three miscreants. Several sharp weapons were recovered from their possession.
According to police sources, there are multiple theft charges against the three. Police have started searching for the rest. They were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Monday.
