Siliguri, 14th September: The North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) has opened new dormitories and a waiting lounge for passengers at the Siliguri Junction bus stand. Minister of State Anandamay Barman inaugurated the facilities on Monday morning on the second floor of the bus stand. The initiative has been taken before Puja to provide additional facilities for passengers.
A 14-bed dormitory for male passengers, a six-bed dormitory for female passengers and a four-bed staff dormitory for NBSTC employees were inaugurated. Passengers can book the dormitory for 12 hours at a charge of Rs 300. The booking facility will be available at the bus terminus.
A new waiting lounge with 29 three-seater sofas was also inaugurated. The lounge has several modern facilities for passengers, including a television and charging points for mobile phones. A VIP lounge has also been opened, where passengers can sit at a charge of Rs 20 per hour.
