Naya Bazaar Robbery Case Update: Two of the five accused worked in a food delivery company

Siliguri, 30th August: The police administration is highly concerned after various information regarding the robbery at Naya Bazaar, Siliguri disclosed.


Reportedly, two of the five youths arrested in the robbery case in Naya Bazaar works in a food delivery company. The duo used to keep track of people while delivering food in different parts of the city. Based on it, the robberies were plotted later. Such shocking information came to light after all the five arrested individuals were interrogated.

The accused Bhabatosh Roy, Amit Kumar Kesari, Vivek Kumar Shah, Prakhar Kumar, and Suraj Sahani were produced at the court yesterday. The court has ordered 05 days of police custody.


In this regard, East Zone DCP of Siliguri Metropolitan Police Joy Tudu said that the Siliguri Police arrested 4 youths on Saturday night and the fifth accused was arrested from the spot on Friday itself. All 5 were produced in court yesterday. Police have started searching for the remaining members of the gang.

It is to be noted that a group of miscreants, on Friday afternoon, was on the run after robbing a shop at Naya Bazaar at gunpoint. While trying to flee away from the crime scene, the local youths and traders managed to nab one of the miscreants, later identified as Bhabatosh Roy. After questioning him, the police learned about his other four associates and arrested them on Saturday. On the other hand, the firearms recovered from their possession were reported as fake.
