Naxalbari, 02nd September: Police have arrested two more people in connection with an alleged robbery plot in Naxalbari, taking the total number of arrests in the case to five.
According to reports, Naxalbari Police received information about the movement of suspected miscreants in an isolated area of Nikhil Smriti Maidan during regular patrolling last Thursday night. Police subsequently launched a drive and detained three people identified as Prince Raj, Mohammad Samsher and Kishore Basfor.
During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted to planning a robbery, following which they were arrested.
Based on information obtained during their interrogation, police arrested two more people on Tuesday night. The latest arrested individuals have been identified as Tapas Biswas and Ranjan Ghosh.
The two were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday.
