Siliguri, 24th April: An atmosphere of grief engulfed in the Siliguri Aurobindo Pally area after the dead body of a man was recovered on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nilabhojo Dutta, a resident of the said area.
As per the report, the locals and the ward committee members visited Dutta’s residence on Friday morning to sanitize the house. However, they were startled to find his dead body lying on the floor.
It has been learned that Nilabhojo Dutta used to live alone in his house after his father’s death several years ago. Since then, his family members and the locals used to provide him food regularly.
The deceased’s elder brother Upen Dutta stated that he too was shocked to find Nilabhojo Dutta dead body and also the almirah lock was broken while visiting the house this morning. He further discovered that various valuables were also missing from the house.
The matter was then immediately informed to the police. The Inspector-in-charge (IC) of Siliguri Police Station visited the spot shortly after, recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy.
