Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve inspected Sevoke Rangpo Railway project

Siliguri, 22nd November: While inspecting the Sevoke Rangpo rail project on Monday afternoon, Union Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Patil Danve said that the central government has set a target of completing the project by 2023. He inspected the work of the railway line tunnel and interacted with the railway officials.


Later, addressing the media, the minister said that that the completion of the railway project will improve Sikkim’s socio-economic system. Residents of Sikkim will be able to easily exchange goods using the railways. Later another 60 km railway line will be constructed from Rangpo to Nathula on the China border. As of now, work has started on the 43 km railway line from Sevoke to Rangpo, out of which 40 km is inside West Bengal.
