Minister Firhad Hakim inaugurates Siliguri-Kathmandu bus service 

Siliguri, 06th July: Under the initiative of NBSTC and a private company the Siliguri-Kathmandu bus service has been started. State Transport Minister Firhad Hakim on Wednesday inaugurated two new buses at the Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand in Siliguri.
NBSTC Chairman Partha Pratim Roy and other administrative officers were also present on the occasion. The said two buses will leave from Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand at 3 PM every week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. While the buses will operate from Kathmandu on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the same time. The fare of this 40-seater bus has been fixed at Rs 1500.
Addressing the media, Minister Firhad Hakim said that the two buses will run between India and Nepal and hoped this initiative will improve relations between the two countries. Apart from this, the initiative is also being taken to start bus service from Siliguri to Bangladesh at the earliest, he added.
