Cooch Behar, 16th January: A meeting was organized by the Bhumiputra Akkya Mancha (GCPA and KPP) in support of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 at the Rash Mela ground, today.
The meeting was attended by Bansibadan Barman, Secretary of Greater Cooch Behar People’s Association and the Chairman of Bhumiputra Akkya Mancha, Atul Roy, Vice-Chairman of Bhumiputra Akkya Mancha and many other people.
Bansibadan Barman stated that they do not support CAA but was in favor of NRC. They will stage a larger agitation against the CAA.
