Siliguri, 25th July: Mayor Goutam Deb issued a stern warning to the Railways concerning the encroachment of land near Tinbatti More in Siliguri, in front of the new bus stand. He stated that he would inform the Chief Minister about this matter and also take appropriate administrative action.
The Mayor accused the Railways of encroaching upon the land belonging to the Siliguri Municipal Corporation. During his visit to inspect the progress of the bus stand today, he expressed his strong disapproval upon witnessing the encroachment. He promptly contacted the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation and DCP Joy Tudu through phone communication. He expressed concerns about the potential difficulties in bus movement once the bus stand is completed, as a result of the land encroachment.
