Fulbari, 11th September: On Monday, Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor Goutam Deb along with other officials arrived at the location to inspect the construction site of the new intake well in Fulbari.
Notably, the plan for the construction of a new intake well is in process and is aimed at solving the water scarcity in Siliguri. Reportedly, the new intake well would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6 crore 90 lakh.
Speaking in this regard, Mayor Goutam Deb affirmed that a new alternative intake well would be constructed to solve the water issue. He added that due to the previously installed intake well being old, issues in the supply of water prevailed. Furthermore, he stated that the foundation stone for the new intake well would be laid in the coming week.
