Cooch Behar, 01st November: Sensation prevailed after a person drowned to death in Cooch Behar’s Sagardighi, on Sunday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Sushant Shil, a resident of Guriahati-2 Gram Panchayat Shyamsundar colony.
According to local sources, Sushant, along with his friends, went to the Rabindranath crematorium in the Peelkhana area to perform the last rites of a local. Later, they went to bathe in Sagardighi. Unable to trace Sushant, the Civil Defense team and Cooch Behar Kotwali police were informed.
They reached the spot shortly after, recovered his body, and sent it for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
