Kalchini, 06th April: Sensation prevailed after a leopard got trapped in a cage put up by the forest department at Mechpara tea garden in Kalchini block.
Recently, a labourer was injured in a leopard attack in the Mechpara tea garden, which ensued panic among the residents. Later a cage was set up by the Hamiltonganj range of the forest department at the said tea garden. Finally, on Thursday morning, the leopard got trapped in the cage and was spotted by the locals.
After this, the forest department was informed about the same. As soon as the news was received, forest officials reached the spot, rescued the caged leopard, and took it to Rajabhatkhawa.
