Siliguri, 10th August: An atmosphere of panic was witnessed in the Bagdogra Bhuttabari area after the footprints of a leopard were spotted.
Earlier this month, some workers working at Bagdogra airport’s perishable cargo centre were also attacked by a leopard. While the animal was not captured then, the locals spotted the footprints of a leopard in the said area today. Alarmed by the situation, the locals informed the forest department immediately. The forest workers reached the spot after receiving the news and planted nets and cages in the entire area.
Ranger S. Gurung of the Elephant Squad in Bagdogra Forest said that nets and cages have been set up in the area to catch the leopard.
