Siliguri, 12th November: A leopard was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle in the Muni Tea Garden area of Gangaram Division under Bagdogra. The Forest Department recovered the mutilated body of the leopard on Friday morning. The incident created a stir in the entire area.
It has been learned that the locals sighted the carcass of a leopard lying on the Siliguri-Kolkata National Highway and informed the Bagdogra Forest Department. Upon receiving the news, the forest department personnel reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to Bengal safari for autopsy.
The in-charge of the tea garden said, “After receiving the news in the morning, we reached the spot and informed the forest department.”
