Koushik Kumar Das invents gadget to help people maintain social distance amid pandemic

Siliguri, 20th August: Experts have been repeatedly advising the citizens to use masks and sanitizers amid the pandemic. Besides, adhering to the social distance norm is also a crucial factor in such alarming times.


However, maximum people fail to understand the gravity of the present situation and are often spotted disobeying the government guidelines.

       


Thinking of a solution in this regard, Koushik Kumar Das, the station manager of the Siliguri Subhaspally Electricity Department, made a unique invention to help people maintain social distance and stop the spread of COVID-19.

Employed as a senior official of the Subhash Pally Power Department, Das lives in Siliguri for job purpose. His love for making various modern devices lead to the invention of the ‘Personal Distance Monitoring System Gadget’.

By spending a minimal amount of 500 to 600 rupees, Das invented the device with the help of advanced methods and techniques.

Reportedly, the Personal Distance Monitoring System Gadget will let out a warning beep if its sensors find someone within 6 feet (2 Gaj) of the person wearing the device. The gadget has to be worn with a belt around the waist. As a bonus, the device can also be used for charging phones and as a torch.

In this context, Koushik Kumar Das stated that in the current situation, apart from the use of masks and sanitizers, it is very important to maintain social distance to stop the transmission of the virus from person to person. He added that he adopted such an initiative to raise awareness among the people. He further claimed that the device is not a copy of other devices on the social sites.
