Cooch Behar, 23rd February: The members of KLO and Linkman Welfare Committee have staged a sit-in protest in front of the Cooch Behar District Magistrate’s (DM) office demanding immediate recruitment of Special Home Guard.
According to reports, on Thursday, the Committee members arrived at Cooch Behar through a rally and protested in front of the DM’s office. Subsequently, the committee members staged a ‘dharna’.
It is to be noted that the Chief Minister of the state had announced to appointment of the surrendered KLOs and Linkmen as Special Home Guards. Significantly, the appointment was done in two phases, however, about 151 KLOs and Linkmen are yet to be appointed. Through the protest, the committee members demanded immediate appointment.
