Siliguri, 15th June: As part of the state-wide ‘Jan Kalyan Shivir’ initiative launched across West Bengal on Monday, a camp was organised at the Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Indoor Stadium in Siliguri under the initiative of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Borough No. 3 Office to deliver various government welfare services to the public.
State minister and Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh visited the camp and interacted with beneficiaries. A large number of people were seen availing services related to Ayushman Bharat, Annapurna Yojana, old-age pension and other welfare schemes.
During his visit, Ghosh spoke with several individuals facing issues related to old-age pension benefits and listened to their grievances. He also assured them of necessary assistance in resolving their problems.
The minister distributed saplings among the attendees and conveyed a message on environmental conservation. He urged people to plant a tree in their mother’s name and nurture it as a step towards protecting the environment.
