Jalpaiguri, 22nd January: A marathon is set to be organized under the aegis of the Jalpaiguri Municipality. During a press conference, today, the Municipal Commissioner, Mohan Bose, informed that the marathon competition will commence and conclude in front of the Municipality after touring the different areas, on January 28.
A cash prize of 1 lakh rupees, 75 thousand rupees and 50 thousand rupees will be awarded to the participants who secure first, second and third position in the marathon, respectively. Participants from 24 states have registered their names to participate in the competition. Apart from this, contestants from Kenya, Bhutan, and Nepal will also participate in the competition.
Municipal Commissioner Mohan Bose further stated that the competition is organized every year and hopes that thousands of participants will partake in the competition, this year.
