INTTUC held protest alleging harassment of hawkers in NJP, Siliguri

Siliguri, 09th June: The Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) today held protest alleging harassment of hawkers at NJP station in Siliguri. They alleged that the hawkers are being harassed by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at various places including NJP. In this regard, they had also raised the matter with the RPF officers.


According to reports, today, demanding an end to the atrocities faced by the hawkers, the protest was organized under the leadership of INTTUC’s NJP Branch Secretary, Sujay Sarkar, and District Secretary, Nirjal Dey. The members of the organization protested in front of the railway station.

Speaking in this regard, INTTUC District Secretary, Nirjal Dey conveyed the alleged harassment faced by the Hawkers by the railway department. Additionally, he stated that, if the matter is not addressed immediately, they would resort to indefinite protest.
