Siliguri, 15th May: The NJP police, based on a tip-off, launched operations in Fulbari and seized 37 drums (7400 liters) of illicit raw spirit from a truck, on Friday. The driver and owner of the vehicle Krishna Das was arrested in the incident. He is a resident of Sundarbans.
According to police sources, the spirit was being transported from Assam to Bihar. The market value of the recovered spirit is around 18 lakh rupees. The arrested individual was sent to Jalpaiguri court on Saturday.
