House destroyed in an elephant rampage in Nagrakata

Nagrakata, 31st May: A house in the Khas Basty area in Nagrakata was severely damaged after a wild elephant went on a rampage, on Saturday night.


According to sources, a wild elephant came out of the forests and entered the said area, destroying a portion of Gopal Majhi’s residence. The animal also ate food grains stored in the house.

In this context, Gopal Majhi, a farmer, stated that the house he had built after taking a loan, has been damaged in the elephant attack. The affected family, therefore, demanded compensation from the forest department and the administration.
