Hooligans create chaos at Kiran Chandra Burning Ghat

Siliguri, 28th January: Hooligans picked up a fight with the members of a family who had come to the Kiran Chandra Burning Ghat for a funeral.

As per the report, the said family reached Kiran Chandra crematorium this afternoon for the last rites of deceased Sushil Chandra Saha, a resident of Siliguri’s Ward No. 22. The argument started when the rowdy allegedly charged one of the members of the family to give up the chair he was sitting on. The men went on to misbehave with Swapan Saha, Coordinator of SMC Ward No. 30 who was also attending the funeral. As the argument escalated, the hooligans even tried to physically attack the Ward Coordinator.

Swapan Saha alleged that hooligans often start up brawls in the crematorium compound causing a disturbance in the area. He alleged that walls have been torn down for them to trespass the Burning Ghat premises. Saha asserted that it is absolutely wrong of such gangs to cause more trouble to the already grieving people who come to the crematorium after losing their loved ones.
