Home voting for Lok Sabha polls commences in Rajganj’s Sahudangi

Rajganj, 08th April: Home voting for Lok Sabha polls has commenced in Rajganj block under Jalpaiguri, in alignment with the entire state. It is to be noted that the first phase of the polls is set to commence from 19th April where voting would be held in Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, and Jalpaiguri districts.


Reportedly, home voting has begun from April 5 and would continue till April 14. On Monday, the returning officer along with the central force visited door-to-door in Sahudangi area of Rajganj. During this, elderly voters above 85 years of age, voters with at least 40 percent disability, voters associated with emergency services including police, firemen, and railway employees have cast their vote.

Notably, the voters wanting to avail the service have to register themselves first by applying a form. After the application is accepted, two officers, include a returning officer, a videographer and a security guard would visit and conduct the voting at home.
