HHTDN initiates ‘Joy Ride’ for students on World Tourism Day in Siliguri

Siliguri, 27th September: On Wednesday, a ‘Joy Ride’ was organized for students on a toy train powered by a steam engine from Siliguri Junction station to Sukna station. The event was initiated by the Himalayan Hospitality and Tourism Development Network (HHTDN) on the occasion of World Tourism Day.


As per reports, a grand procession was carried out from Baghajatin Park in Siliguri before the ‘Joy Ride’. The procession ended at the Siliguri Junction station. The occasion was graced by Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, HHTDN Secretary Samrat Sanyal, Chief Advisor Raj Basu, and other dignitaries.


In addition, cultural programs and quiz competitions were also held at Sukna Railway station. The initiative aimed at students’ entertainment and providing them the experience of riding a steam engine toy train on World Tourism Day.
