Siliguri, 08th January: Haryana Police has arrested a person from Siliguri on charges of kidnapping a minor. The accused, Vipin Kumar, is a resident of Khagaria in Bihar.
According to police sources, a complaint regarding the kidnapping of a minor was filed by the family at Rewari Police Station in Haryana in May 2024. After investigation, the Haryana Police rescued the minor, but the kidnapper was absconding. The investigation in the case continued.
Again, in September, the family lodged another written complaint about the kidnapping at Rewari Police Station. Based on this complaint, the Haryana Police acted on a tip-off and reached Siliguri. With the assistance of Matigara police station, the Rewari Police successfully rescued the minor from the Khaprail area.
The police then arrested Vipin Kumar, who was charged with kidnapping. On Wednesday, the Rewari Police presented the accused in the Siliguri court, and he was taken to Haryana on transit remand.
