Gorkhas are facing atrocities in Bengal, no sign of development in Darjeeling Hills: Yogi Adityanath

Kurseong, 07th April: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Yogi Adityanath on his visit to North Bengal for electioneering, addressed public meetings in Kurseong, Jalpaiguri and Kaliaganj of Uttar Dinajpur, on Wednesday.


Reportedly, CM Adityanath reached Kurseong for campaigning in support of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Bishnu Prasad Sharma (B. P. Bajgain) from Kurseong assembly constituency. Amid tight security, CM Yogi Adityanath reached the public meeting held at Monteviot ground, where he was warmly welcomed by the party supporters and activists.


While addressing the public meeting, the BJP leader said that by forming the BJP government in West Bengal, people will gain access to the facilities initiated by the centre. He claimed that every government that ruled West Bengal, has done injustice and exploited the Gorkha community. He further stated that with BJP’s vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’ the problems of Hills, Terai and Dooars will be solved and livelihood will change.

He highlighted the achievements after the BJP government came to power in the centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a vivid example being of Jammu and Kashmir where the people had to live in the midst of militant violence and terror, however, after the government revoked Article 370, an atmosphere of peace and harmony has been restored in the state. Yogi Adityanath promised all problems will be solved if the BJP party wins.

Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, CPRM President R. B. Rai, GNLF President Mann Ghising, BJP leaders Kalyan Dewan, Manoj Dewan, B. P. Bajgain, CPRM leader Arun Ghatani, Arun Ghising, Pratap Khati, were present during the campaign.
